LEAD GW!

08/19/2023

This year, Henry had the opportunity to move in early and be a Peer Guide for the LEAD GW pre-orientation program.

LEAD GW is a program for incoming first-year undergraduate students. The program empowers students to learn more about themselves, socially responsible leadership, and their new home here at GW. It helps students connect with classmates, discover campus resources, and help ease the transition to college life.

"Leadership Exploration And Development" GW helps first-year students start their leadership journey at GW. Participants attended presentations and workshops, engaged in small group activities, and explored D.C. with their new classmates. Incoming students were paired with upper-class guides (that was me!) who provided personal insights into life at GW and living in D.C.

Henry was thrilled to be involved with the program because of the positive experience he had in LEAD during his freshman year. As a freshman, Henry made friendships and learned about all GW has to offer. He was excited to bring those same experiences to the incoming freshmen students and help them transition into their new lives as college students.

Thank you to all of the participants who were a part of the program. To everyone in my small group (Pink Team!!), thank you for an amazing two days. Good luck on your college journey, I know you will all do amazing things!
