IDCCA's 5th Annual Summer Brews

As an IDCCA Intern, Henry had the pleasure of staffing this year's Summer Brews event (held at the beautiful Eris Brewery & Cider House). It featured special guests Mayor of Chicago Brandon Johnson and Congresswoman Lauren Underwood. Not only was it a great chance for Henry to figure out what it means to staff an event, but it also allowed Henry to reconnect with some of his friends and network. 

At the event, Henry staffed the merchandise table where he (and his fellow intern, Francisco ) sold shirts and raffle tickets. Henry worked the check-in with a member of the IDCCA Staff. Henry assisted Executive Director Dan Kovats with crowd control and the speaker program. And Henry helped with both setup and clean up of the event. 

Weeks of planning went into this event and Henry was thrilled with the outcome. It was a fantastic event that gave Henry the opportunity of a lifetime and helped him pick up valuable staffing skills he will carry with him for the rest of his political career.

Henry was honored to be a part of the 5th Annual Summer Brews and hopes to one day attend this incredible event as a member of the Host Committee.
